ABOUT US

Jennifer is a proud native of West Texas, born and raised. With over 20 years of experience in nursing, she has dedicated the majority of her career to the field of Nephrology. She has been a part of Permian Nephrology since 2006, caring for patients across the spectrum, from dialysis to transplant and beyond.

Jennifer received her associate's degree in nursing at Midland College. She then went on to receive her bachelor's degree in nursing at Schreiner University and her master's degree in nursing at United States University.

Dr. Ram Thokala received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Guntur Medical College, Andhra Pradesh, India. He did his internal medicine residency from James J Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, New York affiliated to Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed his fellowship in Geriatric Medicine from Montefiore Medical Center (Wakefield campus) affiliated to Albert Einstein College of Medicine and then pursued nephrology fellowship training at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Saint Louis, Missouri. He joined Permian Nephrology Associates to serve West Texas.

He is happily married and has two children. He enjoys traveling, playing sports (soccer, tennis and cricket), listening to music and spending time with his family.

Dr. Joy Okwuwa received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Benin in Nigeria. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Science Center, Permian Basin where she also began her Nephrology fellowship, completing it at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas, Houston program.

Dr. Okwuwa enjoys living in West Texas and providing care to the local community, prompting her to join Permian Nephrology Associates. She is married and is an avid reader who enjoys traveling and hiking.

Kimberly completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Southern University A & M Collee in Baton Rouge, LA. She completed her MSN FNP at Walden University. Kimberly brings over 16 years’ experience working with dialysis patients.
 
In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
